Socials
Brothers & friends during Spring Break Cruise
The Alpha Phi chapter frequently promotes Greek relations through social activity. Beta Theta Pi hosts weekly themed socials with many of Tech's sororities throughout each semester. These provide opportunity to improve relations amongst our chapter and the sororities and create relationships and friendships for years to come.
Date FunctionsBeta coordinates special date functions for its brothers every semester. The most notable of these are formals and semi-formals. Semis are usually held in Blacksburg in the fall at a third party location and consist of a dinner and dance. Formals take place over an entire weekend in the spring and occur outside the Blacksburg region. Recent formals locations include Charlotte, Myrtle Beach, and Gatlinburg. A typical formals weekend includes a catered dinner, dance, and chapter awards presented, along with enjoying the local attractions. Aside from semi-formals and formals, various themed date parties are held each semester.
Homecoming and Greek WeekDuring Homecoming week and Greek Week, fraternities and sororities will be paired into teams to compete against one another in various competitions such as field games and float building for the Homecoming parade. The winner is announced at the end of the week. Other events take place throughout both weeks to bring Greek organizations together as one. Both Homecoming and Greek Week provide ample opportunities to socialize with other Greek members and build relationships with one another.
Brother TripsOur brothers frequently go on brothers-only or "bro-trips" every semester. These get-aways often occur over a weekend and include destinations such as Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach, and Atlantic City. These weekends provide the chapter with a refreshing pause from the stress of normal chapter business.
